On the one hand, we have a child. Perhaps the child is in our family, is a neighbour, or sits in the class we’re teaching. On the other hand, we have a Bible. We know that the child and the Bible should meet. We’d like the child to take up that Bible and make it part of his or her life. But how? Where do we begin?
The Bible is long, complex, and daunting. There’s not much time in our day or our class. How do we include scripture in a way that’s appropriate, not intimidating, and helpful? How do we present scripture in a way that plants the seeds for a lifelong relationship between that child and the scriptures?
The Cartoon Bible illustrates scripture in a graphic novel style telling the life of Jesus through the eyes of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. The full colour illustrations are whimsical, but not childish. Each Gospel passage is covered in canonical order. This allows the user to quickly tell the story of the text through compelling images panel-by-panel, word balloon-by-word balloon. Use these images to enhance your presentations by engaging your audience in a fresh way.
