(Matthew 14: 27- 30)

Jesus was quick to comfort them. “Courage, it’s me. Don’t be afraid”. Peter, suddenly bold, said, “Master, if its really you, call me to come to you on the water”. He said, “Come”. Jumping out of the boat, Peter walked on the water to Jesus.

Primary Daily Prayer

Sometimes we are called by God to do something that feels a little scary. Maybe you see a student getting bullied and know you should say something. Maybe someone close to you is sick and you need the courage to trust in God for whatever comes next. These things can be frightening, but Jesus never gives us anything we can’t handle with his help. Jesus will never abandon us when we are afraid or confused.

Cut out footprint shapes of paper. Ask the students to write on them something about which they would like to ask Jesus to help them step out in faith. Everyone holds their footprint in their hand. Say the short prayer together. If appropriate you could make a collage of the footprints.

Jesus, thank you for always being there. Amen.

Secondary Daily Prayer

God living among us, may we realise that you are not far away. Help us to recognise you in the people who are close to us – mums and dads, sisters and brothers, teachers and coaches, principals and leaders, friends and neighbours. Teach us to honour those who are closest to us. Can we really be seeing you in those who suffer? Amen.

Today I will …
Please help me …

Staff Daily Prayer

Do not be afraid, for Jesus is here. Listen to his living word and respond to his call. Look to him and step out in confidence and faith. Reach for his outstretched hand and be held in his love.

Living God, you have met us here and calmed our fears. May we step out into your world strong with the hope and courage you give. Ready to meet you in faith. Amen.

Today I will …
Please help me …
