Liturgy Ritual Prayer is responding to the present COVID-19 situation and reaching out to schools who are looking for resources during home-schooling and distance education. We are aware of the need to provide alternatives for liturgy and prayer other than in the normal school situation.

Liturgy Ritual Prayer has been and will continue to produce resources that can be used online, streamed or in the home setting. We are continuing to look at how best to assist teachers and parents during this challenging transition.

We have published our “Family Prayer Circle” series offering a daily, simple, short and effective time of prayer and reflection for families. The response has been very positive from both schools and families and we are grateful that this is meeting a need at this time.

This year, RSLs across the country encouraged families to commemorate ANZAC Day in a different manner. “Light up the Dawn!” was a campaign that both honoured the ANZACs and all Service men and women, whilst protecting Australian citizens from the threat of COVID -19.

Liturgy Ritual Prayer designed resources for school leadership teams to bring their communities together for this culturally significant day in the calendar, in an online format. Online formats can be live; through the use of web-based conferencing platforms such as Zoom, pre-recorded where students could access when they were able, or a mixture of both. The traditional format of an assembly prayer or gathering isn’t transferable to an online environment, so options were made available for schools to select.

The LRP writing team will continue to produce resources that support teachers during this tough and challenging time. You have our thoughts, best wishes and prayers in your ministry.
