Scripture

(John 11: 27 – 28)

Martha replied, “Yes, Master. All along I have believed that you are the Messiah, the Son of God who comes into the world”. After saying this, she went to her sister Mary and whispered in her ear, “The Teacher is here and is asking for you”.

Primary Daily Prayer

Martha and her brother Lazarus were close friends of Jesus. She was heartbroken that Jesus wasn’t with them when Lazarus became ill because she knew he could have cured him. Now that Lazarus had been dead for four days, it seemed impossible. Yet Martha trusted, and Jesus brought Lazarus to life. Never give up on Jesus!

Holy God, help me to feel your joy, and help me to share it today, tomorrow, and every day. Amen.

Secondary Daily Prayer

Ever-present God, we ask you to open our eyes that we may value and appreciate all people, recognising what we have in common rather than focussing on what our differences might be. Inspire us to distinguish between what is important and what is not, and open our minds and hearts that we may always be young people of good will who bring life and joy to others. Amen.

Staff Daily Prayer

In Your Light: When in need of courage

You are our source of courage, Holy Living God, companion on our life path, source of life and strength, mysterious knowing and empowering presence. In your light we know ourselves best, and in your love – and the love of our sisters and brothers – we feel able to face our life with all its demands. When we must be brave, that is when we need you. It is you who asks us to be courageously ourselves, our full selves, our best selves, and we can – with your help. Amen.
